I have lived in Pitcombe for 6 years, previously I lived in Sussex for most of my life where I ran an IT company and served several years as a town councillor and school governor. I work locally as a technical manager in the telecoms world. I have a 21 year old daughter who has just finished university and is now looking to do teacher training. For fun, I fly light planes from Bristol and am often over Pitcombe in a blue and white Piper.

I am a soprano graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire. Worked at Royal Radar Establishment and for Guest, Keen & Nettlefolds. We lived for 10 years in Belgium after the UK joined the EC, then in Weybridge until my husband relocated his engineering company to Newbury. We retired to Hadspen in 2000. I am a teacher of the Alexander Technique and I also teach singing. Bridge and gardening are among my interests.

In 1966 my husband and I bought our very first home in Pitcombe parish, moving to Batcombe 11 years later. Five and a half years ago I found myself back in the parish, firstly at Hadspen House and now at Honeywick House. I have been a Visitor of Hugh Sexey's Hospital, Bruton for about 20 years and have just retired from the magistracy after 24 years on the Mendip Bench. I am an enthusiastic walker and am interested in the footpaths around the parish.

I came to live in Lower Hadspen in the winter of 2008, with my wife, Katherine and my daughters, Eleanor and Cecily. We always hoped to be able to make our family home in heart of the country, and we feel very lucky to have found this unspoilt valley. We want to immerse ourselves in the life of hamlet(s) and parish and to contribute in any way we can: having served as a parish councillor elsewhere, I can bring some general experience, if not, yet, local knowledge to the role. Apart from a commitment to the current interests of our community, I have passion for the preservation of our historic environment, informed by my day-job as a medieval historian.
